Goal REACHED: Columbus Tech Debuts New Website
Columbus Technical College has reached new heights thanks to a newly redesigned and responsive website by Third Wave Digital. Building a website is truly about finding a partner you can trust and Third Wave Digital was proud to step in as that selected partner. After seeing a presentation from Third Wave Digital at a TCSG peer meeting, Columbus knew that TWD would be up for the job.
Third Wave Digital was delighted to be a part of a year of change for Columbus Technical College. At the first design kickoff meeting, CTC announced they would be updating their logo. After the logo was finalized, TWD took the new brand to the next level with a completely reimagined website design. CTC updated the tone of blue in their logo and yellow was added to accent. Careful attention was paid to the homepage layout to ensure that all necessary information could be easily located. TWD also worked closely with CTC’s institutional effectiveness team to make sure that Student Right to Know information was represented as dictated by TCSG guidelines.
Unique to Columbus Tech is a photo management tool that determines the header images that appear on every page of the site. The images can be dictated by site section or uploaded specifically to one page. This tool is managed through TWD’s full featured TWD.CMS6.0. Other features of the CMS that Columbus Tech enjoys on their new site are the user manager, menu manager, news and press tool, calendar tool and an extensive form builder tool. Over 30 members of the CTC team were trained on use of the CMS, each with an individual login and permission set.
TWD also provided complete content migration services along with assistance in setting up a new information architecture for the site. Non-essential pages were not migrated and the content for each of the 200 migrated pages was approved by CTC. A special request made by Columbus Technical College was complete 508 compliance, this is a request that TWD was more than eager to accommodate. Prior to launch the entire site including content and design templates was scanned for compliance errors. All errors were promptly addressed and a copy of the final report sent to CTC for documentation.
Columbus Technical College is the sixth institution in the Technical College System of Georgia that has contracted Third Wave’s services. Other TCSG schools have benefited from Third Wave’s advertising placement, video production and digital marketing expertise.
